Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it contains influences such as punk, hip-hop and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement being one of the pioneers to establish her own label the year 1990. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
